The existing wind farm in Kent Hills, Albert County is expanding to add more generating capacity.
NB Power and TransAlta have agreed to add five new wind turbines to the 50 existing ones currently operating.
The new turbines could be in operation by later next year pending regulatory approvals and consultations with stakeholders.
Energy from the site is being sold to NB Power at competitive market rates.
NB Power says the new turbines will make up for lower-than-anticipated energy production at the existing wind farm.
