In the Major League playoffs, it's being called one of the best and stupidest games ever played.....The Chicago Cubs overcame a 4-1 deficit to advance to the National League championship series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Addison Russell drove in four runs while cloer Wade Davis earned a seven out save as the Cubs edged Washington 9-8, scoring four of the runs off Max Scherzer......Tonight, the New York Yankees are in Houston for the first game of the American League championship series. Masahiro Tanaka will start for New York against Dallas Keuchel for the Astros.

In the "Q", the Saint John Sea Dogs lost to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 2-1. Alex D'Orio made 37 saves for the Sea Dogs with Kevin Gursoy scoring the lone goal for Saint John. The Sea Dogs play Moncton tomorrow night at Harbour Station on Pink in the Rink Night to support breast cancer research.

In the NHL, Steven Stamkos scored his first goal since having right knee surgery last November as Tampa Bay got by Pittsburgh 5-4.....In other play, it was Minnesota 5 Chicago 2....Detroit 4 Arizona 2.....Florida 5 St. Louis 2.....Nashville 4 Dallas 1....Winnipeg 4 Vancouver 2 and San Jose 3 Buffalo 2.

In the NFL, Carson Wentz threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns to help the Philadelphia Eagles beat Carolina 28-23 to improve to 5 and 1, best in the N-F-C.

A federal appeals court has sided with the NFL in the imposition of a six game suspension for Dallas Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott over domestic violence allegations.

Harbour View High girls field hockey team shut out Oromocto 1-0.
