KV Boy’s team coach Paul Vaughn tells CHSJ News the coach at the time, Peter Corby, had a very strong boys team that went to the Aitken Centre three years in a row.
“His idea was to bring in really strong competition from across the Atlantic provinces, teams from Halifax and P.E.I. and it really took off.
A few years later they added a girls division.” Vaugh said.
Tonight at 730 p.m., the Bernice McNaughton High girls from Moncton plays Horton High from Wolfville, Nova Scotia at KVHS.
At the same time, the Rothesay High girls squad hosts Fredericton High.
