It’s almost time for Uptown Sparkle, the eighth annual event put on by Uptown Saint John, which will see people seeing and doing lots of cool things tonight and taking in a great meal and perhaps some Christmas shopping.
Uptown Saint John’s Nancy Tissington says it starts at 5 pm with free parking for the last hour of the day from the parking commission and then the lights will sparkle.
“The Mayor’s Christmas Tree lighting starts at 6 o’clock at Loyalist Plaza they’ve got a large tree down there this year so that is going to pretty exciting, this is also going to be the Harbourview Choral ensemble in King’s Square at 6 o’clock,” says Tissington.
Tissington also says it is a chance to get your Christmas list items checked off.
“We have some giveaways actually, many of the businesses are giving out cider, hot chocolate and smores and all kinds of fun stuff, along with some nice retail shopping with some gifts so you can start getting into the Christmas spirit,” stated Tissington.
