A revamp of the iconic sign on the Imperial Theatre is underway now as the final phase of renovations begins.
Upgrades to the front of the building were not included in the restoration work 25 years ago but, it was a priority in the recent improvements.
It’s the end of an era for our old marquee!
We’ve worked really hard to make sure that our new marquee is beautiful AND safe, so stay tuned, you’ll only have to wait 113,090 minutes for the grand unveiling! pic.twitter.com/M3Td0LNys8

Assistant Executive Director Bethany Stout tells us the new marquee will have digital screens on three sides.
“It will not be moving text as you see on a ticker, nothing like that. We will format it as lettering because we want people to know what is going on in the theatre just like we do now.” Stout says.
While the venue is without a sign, all of the events for January and February will be displayed in the windows of the theatre closest to the box office.
The work is scheduled to be finished in late March with a reveal planned for later.
