Some Saint John Transit users will soon be paying more to ride the bus.
Multi-ride passes are set to increase by an average of 1.5 per cent.
Price increases will range from 40 cents for senior and student 10-ride cards to $1.95 for Comex monthly passes.
Single cash fares for in-city routes will remain at $3, but the Comex cash fare will increase to $4.50.
“Fare increases will allow the Saint John Transit Commission to address rising costs (for example, vehicles, fuel, maintenance, insurance) as the agency continues to expand service and introduce new technology and system enhancements,” the city said in a news release on Tuesday.
Riders who use STJRides, the account-based mobile ticketing app, will continue to get a five per cent discount per fare purchase.
The changes are set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2026.
